“Queen of Hearts has been such an inspiring and motivating documentary to watch come together. From the very early stages of pre-production, I knew we had something so special here. The story itself is gut-wrenching yet beautiful but what really makes this project stand out is the way it was created. A group of Savannah College of Art & Design students who lived through this traumatic time with their friend Brooke Sturgis all come together to help tell her story in a cinematic and raw way.
If there’s one thing that this project has taught me is the power of being invested and truly caring about a story. The love that all of our crew has for not just Brooke but helping tell her story has pushed this documentary to become its best. Without the dedication and devotion of each and every crew member, this would not be half of what it is.
Personally, this project has pushed me to widen my knowledge & push myself past what I ever thought I could do. If you told me freshmen year that during my senior year at SCAD, I would be solo producing a feature-length documentary I don’t think I would believe you. Every person has poured their heart and soul into this and I am so excited to be able to share the documentary with you all soon.”
